FTA (Fijian Teachers Association)
The Fijian Teachers Association is a registered trade union in Fiji which covers all sectors of education in Fiji. We represent all teachers in Government and private institutions including kindergarten teachers, primary school teachers, secondary school teachers, lecturers in tertiary institutions, government education administrators as well as retired teachers.
We are a globally affiliated, recognized and respected voice of teachers of Fijian, Rotuman and Banaban descent. We have grown from the 20 members that we had during our inception in 1934 to be the forum and voice for about 4,300 professionals today. We are the largest teachers union in Fiji.
The Fijian Teachers Association has 84 branches throughout Fiji and this allows us to be in a unique position to provide unrivaled service to all our members, even in the most remote areas of Fiji and Rotuma.
